Bowls Scotland are pleased to offer a FREE development training day for anyone involved in or wanting to learn more about directing vision impaired bowlers.

This practical, hands‑on workshop is designed to improve confidence, communication and decision‑making when supporting Vision Impaired athletes in both training and competition environments.

What you’ll learn
By the end of the session, participants will:

• Better understand the VI athlete experience and how information is processed
• Apply directing positions effectively (front, side, and back)
• Use the clock system more confidently for clear and consistent communication
• Improve assessment of tactics, head reading, and decision‑making
• Transfer learning into realistic, game‑based practice situations
